A psychologist’s private practice with no development costs
Alina Sorokina, a clinical psychologist from Chelyabinsk, was opening a private practice and came for a website and ads. I suggested testing demand the cheap way first, and the launch cost over 200,000 rubles less than estimated.

The task
Alina decided to open a private practice and came to me on a recommendation. She needed a website that would bring in requests for consultations. Beyond the website she wanted to promote it in search and run ads in search engines and on social media.
The first estimate
On a call we discussed the idea, the current situation and the budget. Afterwards I priced what she had asked for:
- a WordPress landing page;
- a Yclients integration for booking and tracking requests;
- a monthly retainer: search engine optimization, setting up and running ads on VK and Yandex.
What I suggested instead
The practice had no clients yet, and nobody knew whether requests would come. A custom-designed website and ads pay off when there is already demand. So I suggested testing demand the cheap way first:
- build a landing page in a website builder from a free template;
- use a free booking system instead of a paid integration;
- instead of SEO and ads, set up profiles in service directories and spend the ad budget on promotion inside them.
Alina chose this option.
What we did
Alina chose the builder herself: Taplink, cheaper than Tilda and more convenient in her view. She also picked and edited the template herself. We connected Dikidi to the website for booking and the consultation schedule; the free plan was enough.
On my side:
- chose a domain name and registered the domain in Alina’s name;
- connected the website to Yandex Metrica and Yandex Webmaster;
- compiled a list of platforms for her profile, both general ones and those for psychologists.
Alina then handled promotion on the platforms herself.
The result
The launch cost more than 200,000 rubles less than the first estimate. Requests for paid consultations started coming in. In Alina’s words, she became sure she could work for herself and left employment with minimal risk.
