The Stoleshnikov furniture factory needed a website where buyers place orders without a sales manager. In ten days in August 2017 we designed a new website and a catalog with ordering right from the product card.

Website and catalog design for the Stoleshnikov factory
Stoleshnikov dining furniture factory, Miass.
August 2017, ten days.
Stoleshnikov is a dining furniture factory from Miass, Russia. It started in 1990 as a joinery workshop, and its solid wood furniture is sold in partner stores in more than fifty cities. The factory’s website was outdated, yet it brought in a fair number of orders. There was no catalog on the website, only an e-brochure with no product details, and orders could only be placed through a manager, by phone or email.
The factory wanted to refresh the design without changing the familiar page layout, and to free its managers from consultations and manual processing of orders from the website. For the design we chose a soft redesign: the home page, catalog and contacts kept their block layout and got a new style. That needs neither deep analytics nor a new brand, and the next step can be taken separately.

The brochure was replaced with a catalog with filters by attributes and full product cards with a gallery, description and dimensions. A product can be bought right in its card through a short step-by-step form, without a cart or a separate checkout. Besides ready-made products, the catalog gained custom orders, where the buyer sets the size and material, and furniture sets in one style put together by the factory’s staff. The manager only confirms the order and helps if the buyer has a question.

The product card and the furniture set card were designed from scratch. For the front end we put together a UI kit with colors, fonts, sizes and standard elements such as buttons. The mockups and the UI kit went to the agency that built the website, integrated it into the content management system and programmed what the website had never had before.
